Recently modified the Agave and Poplar single fin. The owner wanted to see how the double concave it had would work with the extra drive bonzer style side fins could provide. We’ll see how it goes. As a side note the Fluid Earth center fin reportedly worked great, but I think it will be opted out for a bonzer style center fin with the new setup.

Foamy Fish

This is a recent addition to the series of foam boards I’ve been doing. It’s a pretty straightforward fish design with a slightly more pulled in nose and flat bottom, that blends into a 1″ of vee in the tail. It’s shaped from a sugar based, MDI, Ice Nine Cane blank and has a Fluid Earth bio plastic leash plug. Glassed light with no gloss and single foil fins, it’s meant to ride quick and responsive. It’s currently at Shelter Surf in Long Beach.

New Foamie

This is a 6’8″ hull made from sugar based Ice 9 MDI foam. It offers a bit more flex as well as being better for the environment than traditional TDI foam. This board also has a Fluid Earth corn based plastic/fiberglass fin box and leash plug. It represents the first in a series of more affordable boards, while still adhering to a sense of environmental stewardship. It’s available at Shelter Surf Shop in Long Beach.
