Went to the beach with the family today, hung out, and got some little waves on the new wood/foam alaia.

This is the newest version of the foam and wood alaia.

Well, my newest alaia/ paipo/ boogieboardish thing worked. I was a little worried that this one was too weird but RT tried it out and liked it. Largly inspired by the footage of Ryan Burch on his blocks of foam, I designed this board really wide at 23 1/2″ and short at 5′. I kept the volume down in the rails and the reverse curve in the outline so the board would hold in better when trimming. I still have some bugs to iron out, but there’s definitely some possibilities here.
