The FossOdd is a small wave machine.

The FossOdd is a combination of the Fosshull and Quodd models. You get the same wide skatey tail of the Quodd with an equally wide FossHull nose. What does this give you? Well, the wider nose provides lift and planing which translates into a faster board that paddles way better than it should. It’s a small wave machine. Comes in tri, quad, or five fin setups and sizes 5′- 6’6″.

This is a newer version of the original FossOdd model.

This is a newer version of the original FossOdd model. It was made for a customer named Breene who had previously been riding a Quodd model for a long time. He wanted the same short, wide and skatey type board but with a tad bit more width in the nose for extra paddling and planing speed. The five fin box setup was chosen because it’s apparently the new black. Really, it’s kinda great to have on a board like this because of all the real estate in the tail. There’s a lot of room to play with different setups and you can have a seriously different feeling board by simply switching out the fins. And there are a lot of fin choices these days.

This board was built for a big guy who surfs like a small guy. He’s quick and nimble and knows how to square off the bottom and hit the lip, even when the waves aren’t so good. With the wide point moved up a bit and a little more thickness hidden in the middle, the board paddles well. The double wing design keeps everything loose and responsive. The 5 fin setup makes this a very versatile board too. The owner has been using a quad setup with a new Nubster center fin and let me now it’s the first time he’s really liked a quad. He said it’s fast like a quad but pivotal like a thruster. Built with full balsa composite construction with a 3 ply poplar stomp patch, this board is made to last.

FossHull nose + Quodd tail = FossOdd!

This is a new board I made for my friend Adam. Dimensions are 5’2″x 22 3/4″x 2 3/8″. He wanted a board very different then his standard collection of shortboards. We combined a FossHull nose template with a Quodd tail and squashed them together into a short, round disk that gets up to plane speed really fast and is super manuverable. We combined that with a five fin convertable setup and ended up with a fairely versatile board that put some fun back in his quiver. Construction: Openface Wood: Balsa Fins: Futures Stretch Quad

This is a redwood fish made for a customer who is new to surfing.

This is a redwood fish made for a customer who is new to surfing and wanted a short board that was unique, durable and would grow with him as his skills progressed. We went with a mid length fish design with a wider, fuller, more stable template. I wanted it to be a fast board that required little effort, so he could be up and trimming soon, learning how to do turns, rather than learning how to get speed. I already got a report back that he’s up a riding on it and stoked at how easy and well it surfs.

New version of the Orzo.

Worked on a new version of the Orzo recently. Cleaned up the outline a bit and worked on the rail foil. The new board is much cleaner looking and reportedly goes really well. Similar drive to a three fin with the pivot and handling of a single. The custom redwood spitfire fin was also changed a bit, with a bit more base added and more area overall. Original Spitfires can be found here http://www.Revolutionsurfer.com/index.php Also, the fin box was anchored in a solid block of paulownia wood to help prevent cracks around the box. The Spitfire template puts a lot of stress on the box because of it’s size. If you’re a backfooted surfer accustomed to thrusters this board makes for a seamless transition to a single.
